Steelers safety Terrell Edmunds downgraded to out, will miss game at Buffalo
Strong safety Terrell Edmunds, who spent the week in concussion protocol, has been downgraded to out and will miss the Pittsburgh Steelers’ game Sunday at Buffalo.
Edmunds was listed as questionable when the Steelers released their final injury report of the week Friday. That Edmunds won’t play against the Bills is an indication he remains in concussion protocol.
Edmunds, who was injured late in the first half of the Steelers’ 24-20 loss to the New York Jets, did not practice Wednesday and was limited in practice Thursday and Friday.
Since joining the Steelers in 2018 as a first-round draft pick, Edmunds has missed just one game, and that was the 2020 season finale at Cleveland when the Steelers had playoff positioning already solidified.
Second-year defensive back Tre Norwood likely will start in place of Edmunds, the third starter on defense to miss the game against Buffalo. The others are cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon and outside linebacker T.J. Watt, who remains on injured reserve.
