Sean Davis’ right shoulder was heavily wrapped in the Pittsburgh Steelers locker room Monday afternoon. Though he was awaiting the results of an MRI performed on the shoulder the previous night, Davis remained optimistic he would be able to play this coming Sunday at the San Francisco 49ers.

“I actually don’t plan on missing any (games),” the Steelers’ starting free safety said. “I gotta get back on the field; we need a W.”

Davis had surgery on his other shoulder during the offseason between his rookie 2016 and 2017 seasons. He said this time, he knows his shoulder is not broken.

“No, it feels good,” Davis said Monday. “I think I will be back out there Week 3.”

The same perhaps can’t be said for backup outside linebacker and special teamer Anthony Chickillo, who had a walking boot on his right foot 24 hours after plantar fasciitis hindered him in a loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Vince Williams (hamstring) and James Conner (knee) were not in the locker room at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex during the designated 45-minute media availability period Monday. Coach Mike Tomlin is expected to update their conditions during his weekly news conference Tuesday.
