With two core special teams players ruled out for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, running back Trey Edmunds will be active after being elevated from the practice squad one day earlier.
Edmunds will help replace the loss of special teams players Derek Watt and Marcus Allen. Watt is out with a hamstring injury, and Allen has a foot injury.
Other players on the inactive list for the Steelers were third quarterback Joshua Dobbs, tackle Derwin Gray, tight end Zach Gentry and defensive lineman Carlos Davis.
With Allen, who is listed as a hybrid linebacker, unable to play, Ulysees Gilbert III is active for the first time this season. He will be the top backup behind starters Vince Williams and Devon Bush.
Running back Anthony McFarland is active for the second game in a row. The Steelers also dressed eight offensive linemen, with guard Kevin Dotson, center J.C. Hassenauer and tackle Jerald Hawkins serving as the backups.
The inactives for the Eagles include quarterback Nate Sudfeld, wide receivers DeSean Jackson and Alton Jeffrey, cornerback Avonte Maddox of Pitt, running back Jason Huntley, defensive end Casey Toohill and tight end Hakeem Butler.
The game will be played in front of approximately 5,500 fans at Heinz Field. It is the first time fans are permitted to attend Steelers home games after Gov. Tom Wolf eased restrictions on large gatherings earlier in the week.
