Shown while playing for the Los Angeles Chargers during a preseason game last year, tight end Donald Parham Jr. signed a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday.

The Pittsburgh Steelers added another veteran with size to their deep stable of tight ends Friday, signing 6-foot-8 Donald Parham Jr.

Having appeared in 47 NFL games with 23 starts since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2019, Parham spent all of last season on the Denver Broncos’ practice squad. He did not appear in a regular-season game in 2024.

All of Parham’s relevant pro action came with the Los Angeles Chargers between 2020-23. He had 67 catches for 764 yards and 11 touchdowns in addition to a touchdown reception in his lone career playoff game.

Parham joins a position group with the Steelers that features starter Pat Freiermuth, 6-foot-7 Darnell Washington, veteran MyCole Pruitt and H-back/fullback Connor Heyward. Pruitt is a pending free agent.

The Steelers last season under new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith used three- and four-tight end sets more than any team in the NFL.
