The Pittsburgh Steelers – or, at least their PR department – capped a busy of announced signings of draft picks with word that seventh-rounder Derwin Gray inked his four-year rookie contract.
Gray (6-4, 320 pounds) was taken 219th overall after he started 25 games over the past three seasons for the Terrapins.

Terms were not disclosed, but all rookie contracts have virtually predetermined salaries via a collective bargaining agreement-mandated slotting system.
Gray joins a crowded field at tackle for the Steelers, with Alejandro Villanueva entrenched as the starter on the left side and Matt Feiler, Chuks Okorafor, Jerald Hawkins and Zach Banner options at right tackle.
The Steelers have announced the signings of five of their nine draft picks: sixth-rounders Sutton Smith and Isaiah Buggs on Tuesday, and receiver Diontae Johnson (third round) and running back Benny Snell (fourth round) joined Gray on Wednesday.
Rookie mini-camp is scheduled for this weekend.
