Adding another veteran piece to their wide receiver group, the Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to a one-year contract with former Philadelphia Eagles pass catcher Quez Watkins on a one-year contract, according to a league source.

Watkins joins Van Jefferson as wide receivers the Steelers have signed since they traded Diontae Johnson to Carolina earlier this month.

Watkins, 25, spent the past four seasons in Philadelphia, catching 98 passes for 1,249 yards and six touchdowns in 49 games that included 25 starts.

In 2023, Watkins started five games and appeared in four others. His contributions were limited to 15 catches for 142 yards. His best season was 2021 when he totaled 43 catches for 643 yards.

The addition of Watkins won’t prevent the Steelers taking a wide receiver on the first or second day of the NFL draft.
