Steelers sign rookie RB Max Borghi, waive/injured Master Teague
The Pittsburgh Steelers swapped a pair of undrafted rookie running backs on and off their roster, signing former Washington State star Max Borghi and waiving/injured former Ohio State star Master Teague III.
Teague signed with the Steelers 15 days prior and was getting a heavy workload in training camp practices at Saint Vincent because of injuries to multiple Steelers running backs. But he suffered a recent left ankle injury and was in a walking boot for Wednesday’s practice.
A three-time all-conference honoree, Borghi had 41 touchdowns in 39 college games, including 12 in 12 games last season. Throughout his career, Borghi had 2,159 rushing yards and 156 catches for 1,134 receiving yards for 3,293 career yards from scrimmage.

The 5-foot-9, 210-pound Borghi originally signed with the Indianapolis Colts after going undrafted and also spent time in the Denver Broncos’ training camp.
Borghi joins fellow undrafted rookies Jaylen Warren and Mataeo Durant along with veterans Benny Snell Jr. and Anthony McFarland in the battle for roles behind workhorse No. 1 running back Najee Harris. Snell and Durant recently returned to practice after injury absences.
