Steelers’ T.J. Watt, Cameron Heyward, Minkah Fitzpatrick named all-NFL
The Pittsburgh Steelers defense continues to rack up the accolades.
Three Steelers players were named to the Professional Football Writers of America all-NFL team announced Monday. Similar to the AP All-Pro teams announced earlier this month, all three were on the defense.
T.J. Watt (outside linebacker), Cameron Heyward (defensive tackle) and Minkah Fitzpatrick (safety) were honored via voting held by PFWA members after the 2019 season. Each was also an All-Pro.
No team had more PFWA honorees on offense/defense than the Steelers. The New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens — a pair of division champions who won a combined 27 games — each had four players on the all-NFL team, but those included a kicker (the Ravens’ Justin Tucker) and a punt returner (the Saints’ Deonte Harris).
In voting broken down by conference, punt returner Diontae Johnson joined Watt, Heyward and Fitzpatrick as all-AFC picks by the PFWA.
