T.J. Watt won’t participate in this year’s Pro Bowl games so he can recover from injuries that nagged him during the 2022 season.
Buffalo Bills linebacker Matt Milano will replace the Steelers outside linebacker, who missed most of the first half of the season with a torn pectoral muscle. He also played through a rib injury in the second half.
Watt totaled 5.5 sacks, 12 quarterback hits and two interceptions in 10 games.
With Watt bypassing the games, free safety Minkah Fitzpatrick is the only Steelers player who will take part in the event, which replaces the traditional Pro Bowl with a series of skills competitions.
Watt was selected to the Pro Bowl for the fifth time in his career.
The games will be contested Feb. 5 in Las Vegas.
