Pittsburgh Steelers president Art Rooney II speaks from the podium during a July 11 news conference on the naming rights of the former Heinz Field as Acrisure Stadium.

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ franchise has a valuation of $4.26 billion, 13th-highest among the NFL’s 32 teams, according to estimates for the league’s teams compiled by Sportico.

The Steelers’ value has jumped 19% from last year, when Sportico pegged the Steelers’ worth at $3.57 billion. They remained at No. 13 among NFL teams.

Sportico estimated the Dallas Cowboys as the league’s most valuable team at $7.64 billion, though the 10% increase from last year’s list was the smallest of the 32 franchises. The No. 2 team on the list with regard to overall value, the Los Angeles Rams, had the biggest jump from last season (26%) to $5.91 billion.

The New England Patriots ($5.88 billion), New York Giants ($5.73 billion) and San Francisco 49ers ($5.18 billion) round out the top five in Sportico’s estimates.

The Steelers were judged by far to be the most valuable franchise in the AFC North: the Baltimore Ravens ($3.44 billion), Cleveland Browns ($3.18 billion) and the reigning AFC champion Cincinnati Bengals ($2.84 billion) rank 21st, 27th and last in the league in estimated value, respectively.

Also part of the bottom five are the Detroit Lions ($2.86 billion), Jacksonville Jaguars ($2.94 billion), Buffalo Bills ($2.99 billion) and Arizona Cardinals ($3.17 billion).

Sportico says its franchise valuation estimations are “derived from metrics by which football-team transactions occur, including aggregating local and national revenues and factoring in a team-specific multiplier. This represents the fair market value of the team itself, excluding related businesses held by its owners. It includes the value of each franchise’s 3.13% interest in the league’s properties, including NFL Network, NFL RedZone and its digital platforms, which are acquired/dispossessed in tandem with the sale of a team.”

Team-related real estate holdings also factor into valuations calculated by Sportico.
