Steelers waive LB Tegray Scales, 2 others from offseason roster
The Pittsburgh Steelers reduced their roster Tuesday by waiving three players, including linebacker Tegray Scales, ending his third stint with the organization.
Long snapper Rex Sunahara also was waived, and cornerback Isaiah Johnson was cut with an injury designation.
Scales, who made his NFL in 2020 when he appeared in four games with the Steelers, returned to the organization Jan. 1 when he was signed off the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad after linebacker Devin Bush was placed on the reserve/covid list. Scales was active for the game against the Cleveland Browns at Heinz Field but did not play in the season finale or wild-card playoff round.
Sunahara and Johnson signed reserve/futures contracts with the Steelers in January. They were briefly on the practice squad last season.
The Steelers have 86 players on the offseason roster, four below the maximum.
