A worker at Acrisure Stadium was hospitalized with severe injuries Saturday night after falling about 50 feet from the main scoreboard, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

Pittsburgh Police, EMS and fire crews were dispatched to the North Shore stadium around 10 p.m. for calls of a male worker who fell from the scoreboard to a mid-level catwalk, Public Safety said. The man was loaded into a rescue basket and lowered from the catwalk to an ambulance waiting below.

The man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, Public Safety said. Pittsburgh Police detectives used drones to document the scene.

The Steelers released a statement on Sunday morning: “An incident occurred last night at Acrisure Stadium as crews were preparing for the Sunday Night Football game. A crew member installing production equipment suffered a fall. The individual was taken to Allegheny General Hospital, and we are awaiting confirmation of the worker’s condition.”
