The planned upgrades at Acrisure Stadium are part of a blitz of improvements across the North Shore and Downtown ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Steelers fans can expect to see some concession stand upgrades at Acrisure Stadium on Pittsburgh’s North Shore.

PSSI Stadium LLC, an affiliate of the Steelers, on Thursday got the green light from the Sports & Exhibition Authority to convert two existing pantries at the UPMC and West Clubs into walk-in marketplaces. Two existing concession stands in the same clubs will be upgraded to new self-order concession stands.

The project is expected to cost about $3.5 million, said Doug Straley, project executive for the Sports & Exhibition Authority. PSSI will foot the bill.

The goal, Straley said, is to make concessions more convenient for fans.

Each concession area will be between 500 and 750 square feet, Straley said.

PSSI will be responsible for any maintenance, repair and improvement costs.

This is the latest is a string of upgrades to facilities and public spaces across Downtown and the North Shore as the city gears up to host the 2026 NFL Draft, which is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of fans.

The Steelers also are planning to install a 10,000- to 12,000-square-foot artificial turf field for youth athletes on the south lawn beside the stadium. The field will be used for programs during Steelers games and other events hosted at the stadium, including the NFL Draft.

Pennsylvania launched a $3.4 million upgrade for Point State Park, which will play host to a portion of the draft programming. Market Square is getting a refresh, and a new outdoor civic space called Arts Landing is set to be completed before the draft.
