T.J. Watt upgraded, Mark Barron downgraded on Steelers injury report
For the second consecutive day, 10 players were listed on the Pittsburgh Steelers official injury report because of injury. And for the second consecutive day, nine of them practiced fully and one was limited – but Friday it was Mark Barron who was limited, while T.J. Watt was a full participant.
Barron did not fully participate in Friday’s practice, an indication he perhaps is not assured to be ready to return to action after missing a game because of a hamstring injury. Watt went through a full session for the first time since suffering an abdomen injury late in the Steelers’ most recent game Oct. 13 at the Los Angeles Chargers.
While the #Steelers try to implement a scaled-down player rotation on the defensive line in the wake of Stephon Tuitt’s season-ending pectoral injury, they face the opposite issue at the next level of their defensehttps://t.co/u72hn4L1nJ

Cornerbacks Mike Hilton (calf) and Joe Haden (groin) also left that game early, but each has practiced fully Thursday and Friday this week. Cornerback Steve Nelson (groin), receiver James Washington (shoulder) and running back Jaylen Samuels (knee) all missed the win against the Chargers but have been listed as full practice participants this week.
Each is in line to play in the Steelers’ game Monday night at home against the Miami Dolphins, as is tight end Vance McDonald (shoulder) and special-teamer Roosevelt Nix (knee). McDonald has been playing through his shoulder injury in recent weeks, and Nix is set to return after undergoing surgery after Week 1.
It had previously been announced that quarterback Mason Rudolph would return after he missed a game because of concussion protocol.
