Duquesne officially added a seventh member to its 2021-22 recruiting class Tuesday when forward Kevin Easley Jr., a transfer from TCU, enrolled.

Easley verbally committed to Duquesne on May 6.

Easley Jr. (6-foot-7, 225 pounds) averaged 4.5 points and 3.7 rebounds last season and was one of only three TCU players to appear in all 26 games. He averaged nearly 20 minutes per game last season. He also has played at Chattanooga (2018-19), giving him 55 games of Division I experience. He has scored 528 points in two seasons.

“Kevin gives us another proven scorer and rebounder,” Duquesne coach Keith Dambrot said in a statement. “He comes from a great high school program (Lawrence North in Indianapolis) and has proven that he can rebound and score at this level.

“He shot it well at Chattanooga, and I think the experience he gained at TCU will provide him with the hunger to take the next step. With the addition of Kevin and (Lenoir Rhyne transfer) R.J. Gunn Jr. we have greatly improved our shooting at the four spot.”

Prior to his one season at TCU, Easley Jr. led Chattanooga in scoring (14.2 points per game), rebounding (6.7) and minutes (28.1) while earning Southern Conference Freshman of the Year honors. His 412 points, 193 rebounds and 50 3-pointers were all Chattanooga freshman records. He shot 39.7% from the 3-point arc and reached 20 points in seven games.

At Lawrence North, he was rated a four-star prospect by ESPN.com

Easley Jr. is the fourth transfer in Duquesne’s 2021-22 class joining Leon Ayers III (Mercer), Gunn Jr. (Lenior-Rhyne) and Tre Williams (Indiana State).
