After Gavin Teasdale left the Penn State wrestling program in January, many wrestling fans wondered where he would land.
Would it be Lock Haven, West Virginia, Pitt, Campbell University or North Carolina?
It was none of the above. The 2018 Jefferson-Morgan grad and former Trib HSSN Wrestler of the Year announced on a PaPowerWrestling.com podcast that he’s going to Iowa. He was a four-time PIAA Class AA champion.
Teasdale originally committed to Iowa with Spencer Lee in 2017, then de-committed and picked Penn State.
During his interview Teasdale talked about his weight problems at Penn State and poor choices after his sophomore season in high school. Teasdale said all contributed to his problems at Penn State.
Teasdale will join several former Keystone State wrestlers: Franklin Regional grads Lee and Michael Kemerer, Central Cambria’s Max Murin, Punxsutawney’s Kaleb Young and Exeter’s Austin DeSanto on the Hawkeyes’ roster.
