Tee times set for opening rounds of the U.S. Open at Oakmont

The USGA on Tuesday announced tee times for the first two rounds of the 2025 U.S. Open, set for Thursday and Friday at the Oakmont Country Club.

Defending U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau will begin play, along with No. 3-ranked Xander Schauffele, at 7:29 a.m. Thursday on the first tee. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will start his round Thursday on the first hole at 1:25 p.m.

Shane Lowry, Justin Rose and Rory McIlroy, one of the premier groups of the tournament, will begin playing at 7:40 a.m. Thursday on the 10th hole.

Former Oakmont caddie and Seneca Valley graduate Matt Vogt will tee off first at 6:45 a.m. on the first hole.

The field of 156 players will play 18 holes Thursday and Friday, before the field shrinks to the low 60 scores and ties ahead of the weekend. Those players making the cut will play 18 holes on Saturday and Sunday. If two or more players tie after completing 72 holes, a two-hole aggregate playoff will follow. If this playoff results in a tie, the tied players will continue to play off hole by hole until one player wins.

Oakmont Country Club will play to a par of 35-35—70. The yardage for each championship round will change because of course setup and conditions.
