Tom Edwards might have finished about 26 minutes behind the winner of the Pittsburgh Marathon, but the Oakmont resident took top honors among local runners.

Edwards, 36, finished the 26.2-mile course Sunday in 2 hours, 36 minutes and 14 seconds, according to the marathon website. That’s the fastest time among runners who listed Western Pennsylvania communities as their hometown. Edwards was the 18th runner to cross the finish line in the marathon.
