With Pitt’s 2020 recruiting class nearly complete, coach Pat Narduzzi received the third verbal commitment from a member of the class of 2021 when safety Javon McIntyre tweeted his intention to enroll next year.

He committed to Pitt over the weekend while visiting campus with several teammates from the Imhotep Institute Charter School in Philadelphia.

McIntrye can’t sign a letter of intent until December, but his tweet included the words “130 percent committed.”

A three-star junior, he has offers from 10 Power 5 schools, according to Rivals.com. Among them are Penn State, West Virginia, Michigan State, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.

McIntrye (6-foot-1, 181 pounds) is the 18th-ranked junior prospect in Pennsylvania, according to Rivals.

He joins West Mifflin defensive end Nahki Johnson, a four-star prospect, and three-star running back Rodney Hammond of Norfolk, Va., in Pitt’s class of 2021.
