Wednesday’s “Breakfast With Benz” podcast comes to you from a rainy Saint Vincent College.

Steelers practice was washed out halfway through the afternoon session. It was a gloomy day to go along with the dour mood on campus as the team was clearly still thinking about the passing of wide receivers coach Darryl Drake.

Tribune-Review Steelers writer Chris Adamski and I talk about Drake’s influence on this group of receivers and how they may be affected. Also, some familiar names may return to Pittsburgh to help the organization fill that void on the coaching staff.

Chris and I also talk about some of the praise Mike Tomlin gave his backup quarterbacks and his starting inside linebacker Devin Bush.

The coach had some criticism though, specifically for rookie cornerback Justin Layne. We delve into some of the problems he faces while trying to get up to speed.

And given the weather, Chris and I bask in fond memories of indoor recess. Connect Four and Battleship were obviously 1 and 1A when it came to indoor recess games as kids.
