Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Tuzar Skipper sacks Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Ryan Griffin in the fourth quarter of an Aug. 9, 2019 preseason game at Heinz Field.

Wednesday’s “Breakfast with Benz” podcast features TribLive Steelers beat writer Joe Rutter.

He joined me as I hosted Adam Crowley’s show on ESPN Pittsburgh. Joe and I attended Tuesday’s Mike Tomlin press conference. And both of us are trying to figure out what the Steelers will do at outside linebacker if T.J. Watt and Anthony Chickillo are unavailable Monday night against the Miami Dolphins.

Joe floats out one potential solution that will make many Steelers fans happy.

With Stephon Tuitt out, the Steelers need to determine how they’ll supplement his production along the defensive front. Will it be strength in numbers? Or is Mike Tomlin going to just lean on Tyson Alualu?

The 17-game season debate is hot once more. I bounce some theories off of Joe relating to the “annual neutral site” idea advanced by a few outlets.

Now that the bye weekend is gone, the Steelers host three straight home games. I believe they’ll beat the Dolphins, but lose to the Indianapolis Colts and Los Angeles Rams. Find out if Joe is more optimistic.

Then there’s the quarterback discussion. I’m of the opinion that it’s high time to treat Mason Rudolph like a legit starting quarterback. Joe tells us if it’s time to remove the training wheels as well.

Tim Benz and Joe Rutter discuss what Steelers will do at outside linebacker, the upcoming schedule at home and what they think about a 17-game NFL season
