Pittsburgh Penguins’ Evgeni Malkin in action during an NHL hockey game against the Philadelphia Flyers, Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, in Philadelphia.

It’s our last Madden Monday in April, and there is a ton to talk about.

You’ll be buzzing about what Mark Madden has heard regarding the Evgeni Malkin trade discussion. It sure sounds like the interest in possibly dealing the three-time Stanley Cup champion is more than a fleeting reaction to a disappointing postseason.

If that is to happen we examine the mechanics of how hard a deal would be to execute, how Sidney Crosby would react, and if Kris Letang or Phil Kessel could be next.

We also analyze the Steelers draft and their apparent quest to win the MAC.

Beyond that, we debate whether or not the Steelers selected the right guys to address the biggest needs on their team.

Then there are the Pirates. After a great start they have fallen off a cliff, losing eight games in a row. The pitching has come back to earth. Meanwhile the hitting and fielding has failed to catch up.

Also, injuries have become a major concern with the team. We try to find a way for them to stay afloat.
