Tim Benz, Mark Madden: Steelers draft could have ripple effect; idea of remote MLB, NHL locations
Coming off of Easter Sunday, this week’s “Madden Monday” podcast looks at a different kind of resurrection.
That of the entire sports world.
When will we see it? And when we do, will we recognize it?
Mark and I aren’t just talking about the mechanics of the leagues getting off the ground. We’re talking about where the games are played, how they are staged within the framework of normal rules, and whether or not fans are in the stands.
At least the NFL Draft is taking place as scheduled. I bounce my idea off of Mark that the Steelers may be more reliant on depth defensive picks in the draft than what the masses expect. We also get into the prospect of roster replication if the Steelers do take a wide receiver or running back and whether the Steelers should make a trade off their current roster.
Mark has some alarming opinions about what he thinks the Steelers will do with the offensive line. I hope he is not right. Take a listen and find out what he’s forecasting.
We dive into the notion of the NHL housing a full playoff run in a remote location and why that’s different than baseball’s potential plans.
Mark gives a full review of the Howard Stern interview with Tom Brady, too. He thinks Brady controlled the interview and tells us how Stern let Brady take the wheel.
Then we focus on Terry Bradshaw’s recent comments about Brady, Ben Roethlisberger and Mike Tomlin.
Also not to be missed: questions over the last season of “Brockmire,” an update on “The Plot Against America,” and Clipper the cat is in command.
