Tim Benz, Mark Madden talk Penguins elimination, Steelers draft, Pirates loss
In this week’s “Madden Monday,” Mark Madden of 105.9 the X joins me to look at what the Penguins may do this offseason. Are trades of Evgeni Malkin, Kris Letang, Patric Hornqvist and Phil Kessel possible?
We debate the future of head coach Mike Sullivan and whether he can get the Penguins to play with the structure and discipline he desires.
Then we dive into his relationship with Jim Rutherford and if it is as sound as the organization will have us believe.

On the Steelers front, it’s draft week. They likely won’t get one of “The Two Devins” at inside linebacker unless they trade up. So they better do it. But if they don’t, will they reach for inside linebacker Mack Wilson of Alabama, or take a cornerback? I advance the idea of a pass rusher, too.
Finally we kick around that failed decision by the Pirates to send Jung Ho Kang from third base to home with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, which resulted in their 3-2 loss to San Francisco Sunday afternoon.
