Steelers receiver DK Metcalf pulls in a second-quarter touchdown pass over the Seahawks’ Coby Bryant Sunday Sept. 14, 2025 at Acrisure Stadium.

Star wide receiver DK Metcalf introduced himself Sunday to the home fans with his first career touchdown catch as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Metcalf’s 2-yard TD reception from Aaron Rodgers gave the Steelers their first lead against the Seattle Seahawks.

It turned out to be their only lead as the Seahawks rallied in the second half for a 31-17 victory at Acrisure Stadium.

So much for Metcalf getting the best of his former team after the Seahawks traded him to the Steelers in March.

In the days leading up to the game, Metcalf tried to downplay the matchup against Seattle, where he spent his first six seasons. He followed that script after a loss that dropped the Steelers’ record to 1-1.

“I just hate losing, period,” Metcalf said. “It doesn’t matter who it is to. Pee Wee team or the Seahawks, I just hate losing.”

Metcalf finished with three catches on six targets for 20 yards. His 2-yard catch from Rodgers put the Steelers ahead 12-7 in the second quarter and came when he outjumped safety Coby Bryant at the goal line.

Metcalf also had two passes in his hands that he didn’t catch. It was that kind of day for the Steelers, whose only other points came on three Chris Boswell field goals and a 2-point conversion pass to Darnell Washington.

“We just need to be better with the details on offense and know what the play is going to accomplish and who we are ID-ing up front,” Metcalf said. “Everyone has to be on the same page in that area.”
