Trafford Junior American Legion team used a six-run eighth inning and stayed alive in the state tournament with a 9-3 victory against Upper Perkiomen on Monday at the White Township Complex.

Caleb Kerstetter had two hits and three RBIs, while Jordan White had two hits, including a two-run single in the eighth inning. Peyton Mastro and Landon Thomas also collected RBIs.

Mastro walked to force in the fourth run of the game for Trafford. Thomas’ hit made it 5-3, Jacob Lang walked with the bases loaded, White plated two with a hit, and Kerstetter singled home the final run of the inning.

Trafford collected 10 hits, including two by Evan Gigliotti.

Kaden Lipko worked the first six innings and Mastro blanked Upper Perkiomen over the final two innings to earn the victory. Lipko allowed six hits and struck out four.

Trafford will play again Tuesday against an opponent to be determined.
