Opening day for the Tri-State PGA season is Wednesday with the Head Professional Championship at Wildwood Country Club in Allison Park.

There will be 32 golf club professionals teeing it up.

The Tri-State PGA schedule has been delayed for more than two months.

Rob McClellan, Gene Walter and Jason Martin were the top point scorers in 2019.

The second event will be Monday — the Golf Galaxy Open at Connoquenessing Country Club in Ellwood City. The Tri-State Open at Williams Golf and Country Club in Weirton, W.Va., is June 15-16.

The Isaly’s Junior Tournament begins on June 15 at Westmoreland Country Club. The Tri-State PGA Junior Championship is June 17 at Willowbrook Country Club near Vandergrift.

Tri-State PGA will follow certain guidelines. While courses will be able to allow two golfers per cart, the plug for the cup will remain and rakes will continue to be removed from sand traps.

Hannastown Golf Club pro Craig Mankins said counties going “green” in Gov. Tom Wolf’s reopening plan Friday is a help for local public and private courses because it allows them to cut tee times from 15 to 10 minutes apart, which will allow for more rounds.

The Western Pennsylvania Golf Association’s first event is June 22 with an amateur qualifier at The Country Club at Meadville.

The Westmoreland County Amateur Better Ball is scheduled for June 13 at Greensburg Country Club.
