The Duquesne men’s basketball team will not play its game Friday against Winthrop at the Wade Houston Tipoff Classic in Louisville after two staff members tested positive for covid-19.

The school will return to Pittsburgh on Friday and put its program on pause for an undetermined time period while players, coaches and staff enter quarantine, coach Keith Dambrot said. Each member of the team will undergo additional testing and subsequent contact tracing in accordance with existing guidelines and protocols.

The Dukes were 1-1 in Louisville after losing to Arkansas-Little Rock and defeating UNC Greensboro. Because of the difficulty in trying to schedule games in the ongoing pandemic, Duquesne is not scheduled to play again until Dec. 19 at Richmond in its first Atlantic 10 game.
