2 former Penguins set for induction into IIHF Hall of Fame
Former Pittsburgh Penguins wingers Miroslav Satan and Ziggy Palffy will be among the players inducted into the IIHL Hall of Fame on Sunday in Slovakia.
Mike Modano, Hayley Wickenheiser and Jorgen Jonsson will round out the class of players.
Satan played for the Penguins in 2008-09, recording six points in 17 playoff games to help the team win the Stanley Cup. He won gold for Slovakia at the 2002 World Championships and silver at the event in 2000 and 2012. He is the general manager of Slovakia’s national team.
Palffy played for the Penguins in 2005-06, recording 42 points in 42 games. A three-time Olympian, he was also a member of Slovakia’s winning World Championships team in 2002.
Other former Penguins who are members of the hall of fame include Mario Lemieux and coaches Herb Brooks and Ivan Hlinka.
