The final round of the 66th Annual Sunnehanna Amateur could be suspenseful.

Returning champion Alex Smalley of Duke and third-round leader Spencer Soosman of Texas are deadlocked going into Saturday after three rounds at 6-under-par 204.

Smalley shot a 4-under 66, and Soosman a 1-under 69 during Friday’s third round.

Tied for third at 2-under are Pepperdine’s Joe Highsmith and Yale’s James Nicholas.

Franklin Regional graduate Palmer Jackson made the cut after a 2-over 72. The Notre Dame recruit is 5-over and tied for 32nd.

Three local players: Oakmont’s Sean Knapp, Peters Township’s Connor Schmidt and Greensburg’s Kevin Fajt didn’t make the cut.
