U mad, bro? Reader thinks Tim Benz has it in for Antonio Brown

In this week’s “U mad, bro,” the Antonio Brown supporters come out in force. So do the Patriots haters. My accuracy comes into question. As does my take on the Pierre McGuire’s “mansplanation” of hockey to Kendall Coyne Schofield.

Someone named “Wojciechjano” suggested I wrote some negative things about Antonio Brown’s domestic incident in Florida because I have some sort of ax to grind.

The local media are on a witch hunt! They hate Bell and Brown and want them ran out of town ASAP! So the National Media feeds off the local and there is the drama!

True. This guy has me pegged. There’s nothing I hate more than covering talented players that are fun to watch.

After all, the local media failed in its orchestrated, collective, group effort to “run Phil Kessel out of town” this spring.

So, we changed targets to the Steeler that held out all year and the other Steeler who went AWOL.

Yup. That’s it. You got it. The media covering this story couldn’t have possibly been disseminating facts about a police report.

Rather, we are serving a cooked-up conspiracy to force an All-Pro out of Pittsburgh — for no other reason besides him skipping out on his team this season, embarrassing his coach, and showing acute insubordination toward his boss.

Aside from that, you are on point. We are acting way out of line for criticizing him.

This week, I wrote about how the Patriots managed to fend off their extracurricular drama and win a Super Bowl in spite of it . This person decided to resurrect a familiar argument to counter that stance.

Maybe Steelers should sign someone like Aaron Hernandez - every team has drama magnified by media and sports radio for ratings - personally I am getting tired of this beating drum - have a good day!

As I am tired of fans who can’t admit there is a problem with the Steelers culture and use the “what-about-ism” arguments to justify what’s wrong with their team and its failures.

By the way, as the column stated, every team has drama. The good ones shelve it and win anyway.

Maybe you should read the content instead of leaping to a conclusion based on the headline. Have a good day.

No. But they went 14-2, then went to a Super Bowl the next year, then went to an AFC title game. They weren’t 9-6-1 and missing the playoffs.

So, if you want that low-hanging fruit. Don’t bother picking it. Let me hand it to you.

Gerry caught an error in my piece about ESPN.com’s predictions for the Steelers this year. This is how I projected the AFC North at this point, pre-free agency and the draft.

1. Baltimore

2. Cleveland

3. Pittsburgh

4. Ohio State

5. The Bengals

This Twitter cop disagreed with my stance on the internet dust-up over how Pierre McGuire handled his introduction of Kendall Coyne Schofield during the NBC broadcast of the Penguins-Lightning game last week.

Bro, why? People were crying bloody murder because McGuire was “patronizing.”

But then Coyne Schofield issued a statement in her own words, downplaying the incident and many of those same people were being patronizing about what she said.

It was a lot of, “Well, she can’t say what she really means.” And “she’s just trying to make it go away.”

“BUT LET’S GET MAD ON HER BEHALF!”

By the way, I love how often — and how vitriolic — people used to word “mansplain” to describe what McGuire did.

Boy, Pierre is lucky “mansplaining” is just a misdemeanor in Pennsylvania. It’s a felony in some states, I hear.
