U mad, bro? Steelers, Browns fans go off about Mason Rudolph, Myles Garrett, Devlin Hodges

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett reacts after swinging a helmet at Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph in the fourth quarter of an NFL football game, Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019, in Cleveland. The Browns won 21-7.

In this week’s “U mad, bro?”, readers are angry about the Steelers’ quarterback controversy.

And my take on it.

And my view of the Myles Garrett-Mason Rudolph debate.

And my support of Devlin Hodges.

And my partnership with Mark Madden.

And pretty much anything else I’ve said the past week.

Unless it’s criticism of Mason Rudolph. Then I guess that’s fair game.

Christian used Facebook to reply to my column about the Devlin Hodges versus Mason Rudolph debate.

“I’ve been saying it since the game vs. Baltimore to sit him down. Hodges showed more promise behind center than Rudolph in the time he had. He (Rudolph) is too ‘iffy’.”

Not so fast, Christian. You may have said that then. But Rudolph won every start after that Ravens game until the loss in Cleveland. So I’m not so sure you want to brag about that.

I like the Duck, too. But I’m not ready to assume he would’ve gone 3-0 against Miami, Indianapolis and the L.A. Rams.

You can doubt Rudolph moving forward. But you can’t erase the wins he got over those three weeks.

Richard sent me an email doubting my mild “praise” for Duck’s touchdown to James Washington Sunday in Cincinnati.

“’But at least Hodges made the throw.’ A pro quarterback completes a pass… what’s next? Can you say Canton bound?

As opposed to what Rudolph had done the past two weeks? Yeah. It feels that way.

Tammy clearly is a Browns fan, upset with my criticism of Myles Garrett and my defense of Mason Rudolph in the wake of their skirmish last Thursday.

Her email was entitled “Vison Test.”

Yes. “Vison Test.

Read. And let the irony wash over you.

When was the last time you had an eye exam? You obviously did not see him kick Myles Garrett in the groin while he was on the ground, and that was before he tried to take off his helmet.

You are missing facts and just writing nonsense. It always takes two to tango and in this case the instigator got away with it. To not penalize both of them is insane. But I have always said that the NFL is fixed. Just look at the Patriots. Schedule your appointment soon.

My “vison” is good enough to see you missed an “i.”

It’s also good enough to see that Rudolph was thrown to the ground well after the ball was gone.

And my “vison” is good enough to see it wasn’t a kick to the groin. Unlike yours, my “vison” is good enough to see he was trying to push himself away while being pulled up by his face mask.

How is your “vison,” Tammy?

Well, aside from the Patriots thing. Obviously. No doubt you are right on that point.

That you can see.

Here’s one from some guy calling himself “Paladin.”

Brash.

He’s responding to my “Duck or Mason” column.

None of the above.

Next year: draft.

This year: dial CK; at least he can fling it downfield.”

Uh, Paladin…

Next year: No first-round pick.

This year: Colin Kaepernick sure can fling it downfield. I mean, look at him fire that ball in the face of all that pressure and all that tight coverage on the receiver.

Color me impressed.

Mark Madden and I got this post from Lawrence during our Facebook Live “Madden-Benz Unfiltered” feed on Monday morning when we were discussing the Steelers quarterback controversy.

“These two jerks deserve each other.”

Of course, he is talking about Devlin Hodges and Mason Rudolph.

Of course.

I mean, he couldn’t have been referencing me and Mark Madd….

….wait a minute.
