Despair about the Pittsburgh Steelers’ recent 1-3 stretch knows no limits.

The frustration is pulsating with our readers when it comes to Art Rooney II, Mike Tomlin, Aaron Rodgers, the offense and even our coverage of the team.

In this week’s “U mad, bro?, fans express their displeasure with help from the animal kingdom, the open seas and even with a very, very large dictionary.

“ChisTOEpher” is fed up with the Steelers’ offense.

That hamster got almost as far in his wheel as the Steelers did on their third down snaps Sunday night.

Kevin has a nautical analogy for the state of the Steelers.

This team seems confused about its identity … This team has no leaders. I hear all the talk about players trying to do too much and not staying in the correct position. Then why (aren’t) the coaches and captains fixing the problems? There is no leadership from either the captains or the coaches with this team. The team will be just like a sailboat without a centerboard, unable to steer it in the right direction. Too bad there are no captains aboard to help steer.

That’s a fitting metaphor, seeing as how we just had the 50th anniversary of the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

In fact, Kevin, I found a video of the Steelers’ boat docking on its way home from Los Angeles.

Let’s hope there are no icebergs on the Ohio River this week when Cincinnati comes to town.

During the Steelers loss in Los Angeles, I sent out a post complaining about the missed pass interference call on DK Metcalf. Kevin replied in my mentions.

It was not a flag. Don’t be a whiner. We just (stink). Accept it.

Did I say it cost them the game? Or did I say it was a bad non-call?

I know they (stink). I have no problem accepting the fact that they (stink). But I still think that was a flag and officials missed the call.

If I’ve learned one thing during this eight-year stretch without a playoff win for the Steelers, Kevin, it’s that it is entirely possible for both the Steelers and the referees to (stink) at the same time.

I see no reason to believe that these are mutually exclusive situations.

After one bad game for Aaron Rodgers, Phil is already thinking about his replacement.

Um, Phil. Aren’t you forgetting about someone?

Rod responded to the “First Call item I posted about the Giants potentially working a trade for Mike Tomlin.

Tomlin would be a candidate for the blue tent if he even considered leaving Pittsburgh. He has it too good here. Well paid. More job security than the Pope. An adoring owner. A wife who runs her own business here. The somnambulant Art Nutting II will never criticize him OR make a decision that big. The stadium is always full, the NFL money is pouring in. He’s laughing all the way to the bank. Not to mention - The NY media would tear Coach Vocabulary adjective from adverb with the bs he babbles.

Speaking of vocabulary, Rod, you had me at “somnambulant.”

I stayed for “Art Nutting II.”

Finally, in response to this week’s “Madden Monday post, Rich V doesn’t think we go after Steelers owner Art Rooney II enough.

When are you guys gonna start exposing the real problem … Art Rooney II? You guys are quick to address Bob ‘Spend’ Nutting’s shortcomings as the Buccos owner. When are you gonna start holding ARII to the same standard? His failure to hold Tomlin accountable for Steeler ineptitude and failures year-after-year, for nearly a decade now, is problem number 1, and indicative of bigger systemic organizational issues. But, heaven forbid that ever be addressed by the local media!

You’re right, Rich. Mark and I never….

… have said …

… or written …

… anything negative about Art Rooney II.

Nope.

Never.

You got us, Rich. Good call.
