The final day of the 125th U.S. Open has arrived. After three days of championship play, just four players remain under par in their quest for a spot alongside past champions at Oakmont Country Club — Tommy Armour (1927), Sam Parks Jr. (1935), Ben Hogan (1953), Jack Nicklaus (1962), Johnny Miller (1973), Larry Nelson (1983), Ernie Els (1994), Angel Cabrera (2007) and Dustin Johnson (2016).

Here’s a look at some highlights for Round 4 on Sunday:

8:07 p.m.

J.J. Spaun is the U.S. Open champion. Spaun made a putt from across the 18th green and will be the only player to finish under par at Oakmont Country Club. It is Spaun’s first major title.

7:50 p.m.

J.J. Spaun is back in the lead. After hitting the drive of the day on No. 17, he made a two-putt birdie to move to even par and take a one-shot lead over Robert MacIntyre — in the clubhouse at 1-over — heading into the final hole.

7:35 p.m.

There’s a new leader in the clubhouse. Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre made two birdies in his final five holes to finish at 1-over par for the tournament. Now he waits.

7:25 p.m.

It’s now a four-way tie for the lead at the U.S. Open. Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre made birdie on the 17th, and J.J. Spaun bogeyed No. 15. Along with Tyrrell Hatton and Sam Burns, all are at 1-over-par.

7:10 p.m.

J.J. Spaun will not go away. Spaun, who led after the first two rounds, made birdie on No. 14 to get back to even par and take the outright lead.

6:55 p.m.

We have a five-way tie for the lead at the U.S. Open. Tyrrell Hatton, Carlos Ortiz, J.J. Spaun, Adam Scott and Sam Burns all at 1-over par. And Scottie Scheffler just made birdie on 17 to get to 3-over. Still anybody’s ball game.

6:35 p.m.

And we officially have nobody under par at the U.S. Open. On No. 11, leader Sam Burns made double bogey, and Adam Scott made bogey, dropping them to Even and 1-over, respectively. Scott fell into a tie for second with Carlos Ortiz at 1-over. Scottie Scheffler remains 4-over with three holes to play.

6:20 p.m.

After dropping three shots over his first nine holes to slide back to 1-under-par, third-round leader Sam Burns picks up a birdie on the 10th hole to get back to 2-under. He has a two-shot lead over Adam Scott and three over Carlos Ortiz, who made birdie on 11. The rain has returned and is coming down hard.

5:45 p.m.

Play, indeed resumed at the U.S. Open at 5:40 p.m. after a weather delay. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler made birdie on the par-5 12th to move back to 4-over for the tournament. Scheffler still has a chance to put some pressure on the leaders, who are sliding back a bit, but he is running out of holes.

5 p.m.

The USGA announced that they are aiming to restart play at 5:40 p.m. Sam Burns leads at 2-under-par, with Adam Scott a shot back and England’s Tyrrell Hatton and Norway’s Viktor Hovland tied for third at 1-over.

3:55 p.m.

After Adam Scott bogeyed the sixth hole to move to 1-under, he fell a stroke behind leader Sam Burns (-2). Both then had par on the par-4 seventh as rain began to downpour at the course.

3:30 p.m.

And, there are now co-leaders in the 125th U.S. Open. Sam Burns bogeyed the fifth hole, and Adam Scott birdied the fourth and had par on the fifth. Both are now at 2-under for the tournament as they tackle the par-3 sixth hole.

According to NBC Sports, it’s been 4,445 days since Adam Scott won a major — the 2013 Masters.

3:15 p.m.

Sam Burns holds a two-shot lead over Adam Scott as he plays the fourth hole. He bogeyed No. 2. JJ Spaun has struggled, dropping four strokes in his first five holes to fall to 1-over par.

2:40 p.m.

2:15 p.m.

2 p.m.

A nice moment for the local fans as Philip Barbaree Jr. finished off his round by putting on a Pirates jersey for his final putt. He finished 24-over-par for the tournament.

1:55 p.m.

World No. 2 Rory McIlroy is tied for 30th place at 7-over par after shooting a 3-under final round Sunday. He had six birdies en route to a 67.

A couple other players were under par so far this afternoon as they headed to the clubhouse, including Hideki Matsuyama (-2) and Taylor Pendrith (-1).

1:05 p.m.

Rory McIlroy has found some momentum and is at 3-under for his round today and 7-over for the tournament. He has birdied three of his last four holes on the back nine — Nos. 11, 13 and 14. And somehow he did this:

10:30 a.m.

The USGA announced that Corey Conners, of Canada, has withdrawn from the U.S. Open because of injury before the final round. The 33-year old was to tee off at 10:20 a.m.

Conners, who tied for ninth last year at Pinehurst, was at 8-over-par for the tournament.

9:45 a.m.

World No. 2 Rory McIlroy is off the tee for his final round. He is at 10-over par and tied for 49th place.

It will be interesting to see if he can find some birdies on a course that was softened a bit overnight by rain.
