Mark Madden and Tim Benz discuss the the NHL playoffs and goaltending issues, will the Steelers offense be different this year, the Pirates continue to disappoint, and more on this week’s edition of “Unfiltered” on TribLive’s Facebook page.
The guys start off talking about the Vegas Golden Knights benching goalie Marc-Andre Fleury in favor of Robin Lehner for Sunday’s Game 4 against the Montreal Canadiens. Vegas won 2-1 in OT. But Madden doesn’t think it was a good move to sit Fleury because of one mistake. And what happens now if Fleury is benched for more games?
Benz and Madden also talk about the flub by Penguins goalie Tristan Jarry that cost them Game 5 against the New York Islanders. The Penguins eventually lost the series.
The Penguins need to bring in another goalie to compete and step in if it goes bad with Jarry again, says Madden.
Benz and Madden also talk about the Steelers after their first minicamp practices. How will the offense work with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and new offensive coordinator Matt Canada.
Someone else made waves this weekend saying he wanted to buy the Pirates. Madden doesn’t think anyone is going to buy the team, especially becuse it’s not for sale. He says the Pirates continue to disappoint.
