While it seems like there’s not much new about sports starting up again in the U.S., the number of pro sports players who have come out to say that they are not going to play this year has crept up.

Tim Benz wonders if this will get to the point where it forces leagues to say it’s not worth playing at all?

Mark Madden doesn’t think so. He doesn’t think enough players will sit out. In Major League Baseball, there likely will not be fans in the stands, so the games will be played for broadcast. And there will be enough players that are playing.

Madden doesn’t think players not playing will deter the leagues, but a giant outbreak of the virus - on a team or in a league - might. He thinks if one team gets spike in cases, the league might pull the plug.

Benz and Madden talk about the NHL plan for their reboot and playoff format. They have other ideas on how the league should have aligned things.

The guys also discuss the addition of quarterback Cam Newton to the New England Patriots. They agree that adding Newton make the Pats much better and both see them possibly winning 10 games and the AFC East. Which is bad news for the Steelers.

Madden slams the Washington football team for holding on to their name. He feels it should have been changed a long time ago.

The guys also answer viewer questions, celebrate Liverpool winning the Premiere League, and more “Brockmire” predictions become true.
