Tim Benz and Mark Madden on “Unfiltered” on TribLive Facebook page on Monday, May 3, 2021.

The Philadelphia Flyers have been eliminated from the NHL playoffs, so Mark Madden is happy, though he’d like to have gotten a Manchester United - Liverpool game on Sunday, but that was canceled after fans stormed the stadium.

Tim Benz and Madden return for this week’s edition of “Unfiltered” on TribLive’s Facebook page to talk about that as well as the Steelers and the NFL Draft, how the Penguins are playing, and more.

Madden thinks the Penguins are a better now than they were last season as they approach the postseason. He says they have more depth up from and are playing good, systemic hockey. The defense is also better than last year.

“The Penguins are firing on all cylinders, I hope when Evgeni Malkin comes back that he buys into the system, because if he doesn’t he could actually do a lot of demand,” say Madden.

Moving on to the Steelers and the NFL Draft, ESPN’s Mel Kiper gave the team a C+ grade on the draft. Madden says he thinks Mel … well, he doesn’t think much of Kiper.

Madden thought the Steelers’ drafts was good. He says the team recognized they had to fix the run game and they made a focused effort to do so. He thinks taking Najee Harris was a good move. Benz agrees with the Harris pick, but would have gone in a different direction with the Steelers second pick.

Madden and Benz look at the other picks as well, including taking a punter with their last pick.

They also talk about what happen in England with the Man United game.

Benz and Madden also answer viewers comments and questions.
