Unfiltered: Tim Benz and Mark Madden discuss Steelers win over Ravens to remain unbeaten
Tim Benz and Mark Madden return for this week’s edition of “Unfiltered” on TribLive’s Facebook page to talk about the Pittsburgh Steelers win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday at Heinz Field. The Black and Gold remain unbeaten and improve to 7-0 on the season.
The game played out in a somewhat similar fashion to other wins this season. Against the Tennessee Titans the Steelers played a strong first half and held on the the win, while this week against the Ravens, the Steelers played much better in the second half and got the win.
The team has only played a solid 60-minute game once this season - against the Cleveland Browns - according to Madden.
But as the Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said after the game, “We didn’t blink.” The Steelers are sticking it out and walking away with wins.
After the game, news broke that the team is acquiring linebacker Avery Williamson in a trade with the New York Jets.
Madden has been saying the team needed to make a trade to replace injured Devin Bush since he got hurt. Robert Spillane had some big plays, but if the team wants to go far this season, they needed an upgrade, according to Madden.
Comparing the team to previous years with some other players, madden says this Steelers team just wants to win.
Benz and Madden discuss the injuries, too: starters Tyson Alualu and Cameron Heyward left the game because of injury on Sunday.
The guys also talk about how the Ravens did not help themselves in the game. They didn’t run the ball in the second half, when it appeared to be working, they also took a lot a penalties and they turned the ball over.
What about the Pirates? The guys talk about the team not picking up the $11 million option on pitcher Chris Archer.
And much more including readers comments.
