Unfiltered: Tim Benz and Mark Madden discuss the Olympics, Super Bowl, Steelers
This week’s edition of “Unfiltered” with Mark Madden and Tim Benz features Super Bowl talk, questions about the Steelers, the Penguins coming out of the All-Star break and the start of the Winter Olympics.
About Olympic hockey, Madden says he “doesn’t care at all.” Benz and Madden discuss how all the other viewing options have cut into the number of people tuning into the Olympics. There are so many other choices.
Madden says another reason that people are not watching the Olympics is that the country doesn’t rally around the flag like it used too. He says we used to rally around the flag too much, but now we are in a different sort of place because as a country we are so divided.
On to the Super Bowl, Benz thinks it could be a good game, but it lacks a certain amount of star power.
Madden says that today’s NFL is more like the Bengals, offense-driven, than like the Los Angeles Rams, who are more defense driven.
The guys also talk about the future at quarterback for the Steelers, the MLB, the Penguins and more. They also answer viewers comments and questions.
And Madden’s cat makes an appearance.
