Columnists Tim Benz and Mark Madden present the Steelers’ wrap-up edition for the 2021 season on this week’s “Unfiltered” on TribLIVE’s Facebook page.
The Steelers fell 42-21 to the Kansas City Chiefs in the wild-card round of the playoffs to end their season.
Benz, wearing a Pittsburgh Maulers hat, said the the Chiefs made the Steelers look like a USFL team on Sunday night.
“The Steelers just aren’t as good as Kansas City,” said Madden. ”The Steelers aren’t as good as any team that is slightly above their class if that team plays well.”
Benz points out that while the Steelers offense was very bad, and people are going to blame offensive coordinator Matt Canada, the defense couldn’t stop the Chiefs once they got rolling.
The defense isn’t that good, says Madden. They have some good players, but as a unit it is not that good.
Even with T.J. Watt having a good game, the Steelers weren’t able to compete. Madden isn’t sure how much one guy helps on a team like the Steelers.
Benz lays it on the offense, which is so bad that they can’t help or benefit from the plays that a guy like Watt makes.
Madden and Benz also talk about the other NFL playoffs games, the outlook for the Steelers and comments by JuJu Smith-Schuster and others.
They also talk Penguins and answer viewers comments and questions.
