Unfiltered: Tim Benz and Mark Madden get into Steelers' issues on both sides of the ball
Tim Benz wants fans and the Pittsburgh public to channel their worries and concerns in the right direction after yet another Steelers loss.
He says that they should be worried about him and Mark Madden.
“Worry about who matters. Us,” Benz says. “Because in our business a little strife, a little consternation, a little controversy about the home town football team is a good thing. What’s a bad thing is irrelevance.
“And if the Steelers don’t turn things around soon, they are going to be irrelevant by Halloween.”
On this week’s edition of “Unfiltered” on TribLIVE’s Facebook page, Benz and Madden talk about the Steelers’ loss to the Packers on Sunday and the issues facing the team after a 1-3 start to the season.
Madden agrees with Benz, “Things are going real bad, real fast” for the Steelers.
Madden says that there are a lot of things wrong on the team, but the supposed “elite” defense has been a big disappointment. He says that Ben Roethlisberger is 39 and it was known that he might not be great. The offensive line has a ton of issues and are worse than thought. But the defense was supposed to be good.
Madden and Benz also talk about the Steelers offense which has no rhythm between Roethlisberger and coordinator Matt Canada.
Madden says it’s going to get worse for the Steelers, before it gets better.
Madden and Benz also discuss Najee Harris, JuJu Smith-Schuster and the team’s ownership, as well as answer viewers comments and questions.
