Tim Benz and Mark Madden return with “Unfiltered” and cover a lot of Steelers news, as well as the Penguins and the latest on the impact of the coronavirus shutdown on the sports world.

The guys talk about whether a few Steelers players could be playing their final season with the team including James Conner, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Alejandro Villanueva. Some fans don’t seem to want to see them go, but Madden points out they haven’t made much of an impact.

The Steelers haven’t made the playoffs the past two years: Will they make the playoffs this season? Benz thinks so, while Madden isn’t sure.

But will there be an NFL season on this year at all? Madden says the NFL is the best bet of all the pro sports to resume play. But there are a lot of other factors that could prevent a smooth return. Would Pennsylvania and Pittsburgh allow games to be played? Madden shares his thoughts.

The guys also look at possible scenarios for college football. Both Madden and Benz think of all the conferences, the SEC is the powerhouse and they will likely go forward, while others may not.

Fewer college games might lead to Saturday games for the NFL.

What about the Penguins and the NHL? Who knows when hockey is coming back, but is the window on the Penguins getting to the Stanley Cup Final closing? Madden shares his thoughts. Will PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh be a venue for a restarted hockey season?

In general, Madden is not very optimism about sports restarting because of the politics surrounding all decisions.

The guys also respond to comments from readers on Smith-Schuster leaving the team, the quarterback situation, how the Steelers stack up against the AFC North and Antonio Brown landing with the Baltimore Ravens.

And watch out for the murder hornets.
