Mark Madden and Tim Benz talk about the Pittsburgh Steelers preseason games and more on this week’s edition of “Unfiltered” on TribLIVE’s Facebook page.
The Steelers have won three preseason games and have their fourth and final scrimmage on Friday. Benz sees good signs in the depth of the team, but doesn’t think the 3-0 start means much.
Madden agrees and says that there are certain things that he sees with the Steelers that give cause for guarded optimism. Madden says rookie Pat Freiermuth should be the No. 1 tight end and rookie Dan Moore Jr. should start at one of the tackles.
Benz and Madden also look at the teams that the Steelers will be chasing in order to get a playoffs spot this season. Both say the AFC is very deep and the Steelers schedule is going to be difficult.
They make some predictions about the Steelers season and talk about position battles this preseason.
Other topics include the Pirates placing Gregory Polanco on waivers and NCAA football. They answer viewers’ comments and questions.
And Madden shuts down a spam call while on the livestream.
