Tim Benz and Mark Madden return for this week’s edition of “Unfiltered” on TribLive’s Facebook page to wrap up what happened in the Pittsburgh Steelers loss to the Cleveland Browns in the Wild Card round game on Sunday night at Heinz Field.

The Browns eliminated the Steelers from the playoffs with a 48-37 win at Heinz Field. The loss booted the Steelers from the playoffs and is among the team’s worst loses, though there are plenty of bad losses in recent memory.

JuJu Smith-Schuster was quoted this week saying, “The Browns is the Browns.” Well, Tim Benz says “The Steelers is the Steelers.” And it’s been like that for a while, but it took a humiliating playoff loss to the Browns for some to see that.

The Steelers 11-0 start went up in flames, and now the team sulks away into the off-season with many questions. While the playoffs continue with two other AFC North teams - the Browns and the Baltimore Ravens - that could run the division in years to come.

Madden goes on to toast ten years of under-achieving in the playoffs. Sunday night’s loss was the tip of the iceberg. They have had amazing talent for the last decade, but haven’t done anything with it, argues Madden.

Madden says the the team has a damaged, toxic culture. It started when Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell ruined the locker room, but it continues even with them gone.

The Steelers came out unfocused, flat and unready for a big game - Madden says these are signs of a bad culture. The team has no leaders, no focus and bad coaching, he says.

“The plane has crashed into the mountain,” and it is time to stop making excuses, says Madden.

Benz says that though he didn’t think the Browns would win this game, but he thought it was the type of game that the Steelers would loss.
