Duke’s Jalen Johnson scores past Pitt’s Xavier Johnson in the second half Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021 at Petersen Events Center.

Wake Forest has replaced Boston College as Pitt’s opponent Saturday after a positive test and subsequent quarantining and contract tracing within the BC program.

The game, moved from its original date of Feb. 7, will be played in Winston-Salem, N.C., with the same start time (6 p.m.) and telecast venue (ACC Network).

That leaves Pitt (8-2, 4-1 ACC) with five games to make up — three on the road (Duke, Georgia Tech and Boston College) and two at home (Notre Dame and Florida State). Pitt will play Notre Dame on Jan. 30 at Petersen Events Center.

Pitt now is scheduled to play only two games in the first 16 days of February, possibly leaving some room for rescheduling, but there is no guarantee the Panthers will play a full, 20-game conference schedule

Wake Forest (3-5, 0-5) took a five-game losing streak into its game Wednesday night at North Carolina.

Also, the Pitt women (3-3, 1-2) will play their first game since Dec. 20 when they meet Miami on Thursday at the Pete.
