The Washington Wild Things will host their third annual celebrity softball game July 15 at Wild Things Park.

The Washington Wild Things baseball club, in conjunction with The Coury Firm, will host its third Three Rivers Celebrity Softball Game on July 15 at Wild Things Park.

Dorin Dickerson, who will be inducted Saturday into the Western Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame, will host the event.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Heyward House, Steelers defensive lineman Cam Heyward’s foundation.

“We continue to enhance the Three Rivers Celebrity Softball Game fan experience and look to raise the bar on the charitable fundraising goals for The Heyward House,” Wild Things president and general manager Tony Buccilli said.

“Cam continues to do such great work on and off the field, and his commitment to his service projects is unmatched. The event will sell out once again, so we encourage fans to grab their seats closest to the action while they are available.”

Celebrities and sports figures from the Pittsburgh region and beyond will attend and take part in the game and its surrounding festivities. They will be announced periodically on the Wild Things’ social media platforms in the weeks leading up to July 15.

The game itself is set for 7:05 p.m. and will feature two teams comprised of different sets of players.

“(The) third year is upon us, and I can’t wait to be a part of such an amazing event,” said Dickerson, a former Pitt football wide receiver/tight end standout who played parts of six season in the NFL.

“To be able to help the Heyward Foundation means a lot to me. Cam means so much to the city of Pittsburgh. He truly cares about giving back. I can’t wait to help him give back as well.”

Last year’s event sold out with more than 4,000 fans watching celebrities, including Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett, Jersey Jerry, All Elite Wrestling star and Pitt Dental School graduate Dr. Britt Baker, Steelers linebacker Alex Highsmith, WWE star Braun Strowman, former NBA star Jalen Rose, and Woodland Hills, Penn State and Carolina Panthers running back Miles Sanders.

The 2022 event raised more than $50,000 for The Heyward House.

Kids Fest also returns and features bounce houses, other inflatables, and baseball skills training.

There also will be a tailgate with unlimited food and drinks for those with a tailgate ticket which costs $30 and includes a game ticket.

Game tickets are $15. All tickets are available on the Wild Things website.

“It’s a day full of fun, laughs, and some serious competition for the awesome fans who come to support the cause,” Heyward House executive director Charlotte Heyward said.
