WWE and Hulk Hogan paid tribute to the late “Mean” Gene Okerlund on the Jan. 7 edition of “Monday Night Raw.”

The wrestling legend returned to WWE television for the first time since being fired in July 2015 after racist comments he made in 2006 leaked.

Despite some pushback from fans on social media, Hogan was met with a good reaction and sported a red “Mean Gene – O – Mania” T-shirt. Hogan talked about all the wrestlers he could be hanging out with in heaven, mentioning Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior, Roddy Piper, Andre the Giant and others, according to the Wrestling Observer.

Hogan finished his in-ring segment by saying “Whatcha gonna do when Mean Gene-O-Mania runs wild on you,” a play on one of his most famous phrases.

Okerlund was a longtime announcer and interviewer with WWE and WCW. He passed away Jan. 2. He was 76.
