1. No. 8 IUP women outlast No. 20 Cal (Pa.) in PSAC showdown

Lexi Griggs (Vincentian) recorded a season-high 22 points as the Crimson Hawks downed the Vulcans, 76-61, on Saturday in a rematch of last year’s NCAA regional championship.

IUP won that matchup, too, and extended its winning streak to 14 on Sunday. The Crimson Hawks improved to 16-1, 11-0, with its only loss coming Nov. 15 to Glenville State.

Griggs, who played all 40 minutes, added seven rebounds and shot 10 of 14 from the field. As a team, IUP hit 28 of 47 shots (59.6 %), its best mark of the season.

Natalie Myers (Burrell) finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds in the win.

Cal (13-4, 7-4 PSAC) shot 33.8% (22-of-65) from the floor. Ahmya Woodyard scored a team-high 18 points.

2. Pitt-Johnstown coach Rukavina earns 500th victory

Josh Wise (Washington) scored 21 points, including a 3-pointer with 1 minute, 5 seconds left, to help the Mountain Cats edge Slippery Rock, 72-69, on Saturday in the PSAC.

Bob Rukavina, who took over the program in 1989, improved to 500-347.

Fred Mulbah had 10 points and eight assists for Pitt-Johnstown (15-3, 9-2), which sits second in the West Division behind IUP (15-1, 10-1).

Will Robinson Jr. led The Rock (8-9, 4-7) with 24 points.

3. OT victory puts Grove City men into tie for 1st

The Wolverines went on an 11-0 run in overtime and topped Westminster, 91-80, on Saturday in a PAC game that featured 12 ties.

Grove City (8-7, 5-2) and Chatham (10-6, 5-2) are a half-game ahead of Westminster (10-7, 5-3).

James Wells led the Wolverines with 24 points, Erik Meiners had a career-best 22 points and Justice Rice (Monessen) scored 20.

Preston Stitt paced Westminster with 20 points.

4. Balanced scoring helps No. 7 IUP rally

Malik Miller had 22 points, and all five Crimson Hawks starters scored in double figures in their 86-69 PSAC win over Cal (Pa.) on Saturday.

IUP (15-1, 10-1) trailed by 18 points less than nine minutes into the game before coming back.

Armoni Foster, Ethan Porterfield and Dave Morris had 17 points apiece for the Crimson Hawks.

Luke House led Cal (11-6, 7-4) with 18 points.

5. RMU women remain unbeaten in conference

Hilbert slipped to 11-4, 8-2.
