Brennan Marion is a sponge when it comes to gaining — and sharing — football information. Which made him a perfect candidate for the NFL Quarterback Coaching Summit.

Marion, the offensive coordinator at William & Mary and a Greensburg Salem graduate, will join a number of other NFL and college assistant coaches at the event June 24-25 in Atlanta.

The NFL says the annual summit is part of the league’s “commitment to strengthening the coaching and personnel development pipeline,” and serves as a professional development and networking workshop.

NFL general managers and coaches will speak at the summit about carving paths to the pros and enhancing the game on the offensive side of the football.

Marion gained notoriety for his “Go-Go” offense that made Howard one of the highest-scoring teams in the nation a few years ago. The Bison averaged 470.8 yards and 33.6 points last season and led the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in passing and rushing yardage.

He spent two years there as an OC and quarterbacks coach before moving to William & Mary.

The former Tulsa wide receiver who appeared on the track to a pro career before an injury, Marion followed coach Mike London, who also left Howard for William & Mary.

Marion took part in the invitation-only American Football Coaches Association 35 Under 35 Coaches Leadership Institute at the AFCA Convention. Other college coaching stops for Marion included Arizona State and Oklahoma Baptist.
