Seton Hill fell short of its goal.
A sign in the dugout says, “Cary, NC 484,” to signify the mileage from the Greensburg campus to the site of the NCAA Division II World Series. But the Griffins still managed a number of postseason accolades.
Senior Andrew Chuba earned All-America honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association as a third-team designated hitter. He also was named to the D2CCA, NCBWA and American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-Region first teams and the All-PSAC first team.
Chuba led the Griffins with a .373 batting average and 19 stolen bases, scored 42 runs and drove in 33.
Junior third baseman Tommy Pellis (Greensburg Central Catholic) was named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region second team. He also was an All-PSAC first-teamer. Pellis batted .348 and led Seton Hill in runs (45), hits (57), home runs (11) and RBIs (45).
